Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy hosts the 35th annual GI Fellows Summer Course in 2022, which is dedicated to a distinguished faculty from New York’s metropolitan area. This course is intended to provide first year GIs with a comprehensive understanding of endoscopic procedures and the practical treatment of digestive tract diseases. The course has a wide variety of topics, including upper and lower endoscopy, procedural sedation, colonoscopy, devices and tools for endoscopic procedures, electrocautery, foreign bodies, pathology and radiology, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy, GI emergencies, and upper and lower GI bleeding.
Learning Goals:
gain knowledge of the endoscopic evaluation, findings, and treatment methods for diseases of the digestive system.
Review the radiological and pathological findings associated with these instances.
Discuss the practical presentation, methods of diagnosis, and treatment of digestive tract diseases.
Know what is necessary for a successful patient during an endoscopic procedure.
Diagnose and create treatment plans for foreign objects and blockages in the bowel.
learn methods of dealing with acute upper and lower GI issues.
Recognize the rules and principles involved in placing feeding tubes.
