Advanced GBR: From socket preservation to vertical bone regeneration

Advanced GBR From socket preservation to vertical bone regeneration

By Prof. Massimo Simion

About the Course:

Welcome to Prof. Massimo Simion’s surgical web series Advanced GBR.

This collection of surgical videos – performed and commented by Prof. Massimo Simion, among the best world-renowned experts in bone augmentation – aims at providing learners with a thorough description of all the phases comprised in advanced bone and tissue reconstruction procedures.

Advanced GBR allows the learner to discover the hard and soft tissue augmentation protocols used by the Author in his daily practice, with specific focus on:.

• soft tissue management in one-stage and two-stage GBR surgery;
• bone harvesting procedures and features of the different graft types;
•  use of titanium-reinforced membranes VS resorbable membranes and stabilization strategies;
• how to successfully transfer the desired morphology to the membrane;
•  releasing incision design and flap passivation techniques;
• suture techniques.

A foreword by the Author:
“This video course is brought to you with the specific aim of sharing the results of my 30 year career in reconstructive surgery, in terms of case-specific critical assessment, clinical protocols and practical procedures. Through a collection of exclusive video surgeries, I’ll guide you through a schematic approach to advanced GBR cases, where the rational management of simple and effective flap designs plays a crucial role.”

Topics covered in this course:

• post-extraction socket preservation techniques;
• Immediate post extraction implant placement with simultaneous contour
  augmentation;
•  GBR for optimal implant esthetics: hard & soft tissue augmentation;
• horizontal ridge augmentation using resorbable membranes;
• tridimensional GBR in the posterior mandible
•  suture strategies in GBR, posterior areas VS esthetic zone
•  keratinized tissue augmentation techniques, autologous gingival grafts VS xenografts.

Introductory Lecture: Guided Bone Regeneration for the reconstruction of bone defects: the treatment plan In this introductory lecture Prof. Massimo Simion reviews the GBR guidelines according to the latest evolutions of its protocols. This precious theoretical dissertation is designed to help the learner obtain the best return from the surgical videos that compose Advanced GBR.
