Dermatopathology in Paradise 2026 focuses on diagnostic challenges ranging from inflammatory skin disease to melanocytic tumors. The four-day SSI program, held October 12–15 at Fairmont Kea Lani in Maui, includes 20 scheduled lectures on infections, vascular lesions, alopecia, lymphoma, pediatric tumors and immunobullous disease. Course director Philip E. LeBoit, MD, is joined by Maxwell A. Fung, MD, Joyce S. Lee, MD, and Daniel D. Miller, MD. The emphasis is on pattern recognition, clinicopathologic correlation, testing choices and diagnostic pitfalls. The lecture list below preserves each title, speaker and day without adding a repeated explanation to every session.
Package scope: The package is described as videos, PDFs, presentation slides and English subtitles. The 20 scheduled lectures do not verify the number or completeness of supplied recordings, documents or subtitle tracks. SSI registration and official conference attendance are separate from this file purchase.
Learning Objectives
After reviewing the educational program, learners should be better able to:
- Recognize major inflammatory reaction patterns, including spongiotic and psoriasiform dermatitis.
- Distinguish cutaneous infections from noninfectious histopathologic mimics.
- Interpret challenging clinicopathologic cases using a systematic diagnostic approach.
- Differentiate benign and malignant melanocytic proliferations.
- Apply appropriate histopathologic criteria when evaluating dysplastic nevi and melanoma in situ.
- Recognize vascular anomalies, occlusive vasculitis, and vasculopathies.
- Assess scarring and non-scarring alopecia using relevant histologic features.
- Identify important diagnostic pitfalls involving cutaneous lymphoma and pediatric skin tumors.
- Review contemporary diagnostic approaches to immunobullous diseases.
- Select appropriate ancillary tests and improve diagnostic accuracy through clinicopathologic correlation.
These are educational objectives derived from the published lecture topics, rather than a verbatim statement of the organizer’s official objectives.
